Scan Kerb

The quick, light and easy-to-install kerbing solution.

Scan Kerb - a new generation of concrete kerbs. Scan kerb is a “stick down” kerb that has many advantages over traditional concrete kerbs:

• Easy to use and install
• Cost effective compared to traditional kerb installation
• Reduced installation time reduces road disruptions
• No requirement for costly site excavation and disposal
• No requirement for heavy plant
• Health and Safety - All standard units under 25kg
• Up to 200 linear metres can be installed per day by a two man team
• Flexible and versatile system
• Tried and tested product
• Less noise and dust contamination
• Lower carbon footprint for installation
• Profiles compatible with traditional HB2 and Splay profiles
• Lower transport costs (see below)

An average 27 tonne load of standard 225x125mm HB2 kerb is approx 380 linear metres. An equivalent load of Scan Kerb is approx 875 linear metres. This could equate to a saving of around £800 on haulage costs and a greatly reduced carbon footprint.

Scan Kerb has been used for many years in Scandinavia, through the harshest of weather conditions. It is Highways Agency approved (section 1101 paragraph 2 of Highway Works) and has been used within a number of applications, such as:

• Cycle routes
• Traffic management
• Traffic calming
• Bridge kerbing
• Applications where services are close to the highways surface
• Car parks
• Traffic islands

Scan Kerb has only been available in the UK for the past few years but has been used on many projects throughout the UK. Click here for project list and Scan Kerb installation video.
